Learners will gain an understanding of what is meant by mental health and emotional wellbeing and the spectrum from mental ill health through to emotional wellbeing.  The course explores the impact emotional wellbeing has on our physical and social health and how resilience is developed and its importance in dealing with adversity. It also covers the factors that have positive and negative effects on our emotional wellbeing and provides practical ways to develop the learners own and others emotional wellbeing. 

This course provides candidates with a knowledge and understanding of the principles of mental wellbeing, the effect of mental wellbeing on the individual and community, and how mental wellbeing can be maintained or improved.

Gain the knowledge, confidence and skills to support individuals who are thinking of making a health behaviour change. It will enable learners to understand the importance of effective communication in building rapport with individuals.

This course provides learners with an understanding of public health and the factors that have improved public health.  Learners will also be given an understanding of how, at an individual level, lifestyle choices and behaviours can have a positive and negative effect on health.
